Beyond innovation: Leveraging the power of machine learning for business growth
Discover the transformative role of GenAI and Machine Learning for business growth as it reshapes business operations and drives innovation in the era of AI.
Distributed training with Kubernetes
Neural networks are more relevant than ever with the rise of GenAI, in particular large language models, and at Kensho we’ve been employing them in a wide range of applications. However, training these complex models can be computationally intensive and expensive. In collaboration with our ML Research team, Kensho’s infrastructure team tackled this challenge using a multi-node approach that could be easily integrated into our existing infrastructure.
How human-reviewed machine-readable transcripts supercharge audio data
Machine-Readable Human-Reviewed (MRHR) transcripts merge modern technological capabilities with human reassurance to produce a transcription that is machine-readable and human-reviewed.
Kensho now offers a connection to Business Entity Cross Reference Service from its Link solution
Kensho Link can now connect not only to S&P Global CIQ IDs, but also all BECRS-provided IDs. This new unified service combines the ML-powered entity mapping accuracy of Link with the expansive company identifier data from BECRS into a single efficient workflow.
What is data enrichment?
In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, data is more than just a collection of ones and zeros; it’s the lifeblood of modern businesses. We are excited to delve into the transformative potential of data enrichment and its profound impact on organizational strategies, customer insights, and overall success. Join us as we explore how this process, executed through innovative tools like Kensho NERD and Kensho Link, is shaping the future of decision-making.

Kensho industry use case: Natural language processing for document management systems
In today’s information-driven world, organizations face the daunting challenge of efficiently managing and extracting value from vast amounts of textual data. This is where Natural Language Processing (NLP) comes to the rescue. NLP, a branch of artificial intelligence, empowers document management systems to understand, interpret, and extract meaningful insights from unstructured text. By combining the power of linguistics, machine learning, and data processing techniques, NLP revolutionizes how organizations handle documents, enabling them to unlock the untapped potential of their textual data.
The power of NLP for legal and compliance
In the evolving landscape of legal and compliance, staying ahead of the game is crucial for organizations. One technology that is gaining traction in these industries is Natural Language Processing (NLP). With its ability to understand, interpret, and generate human language, NLP is transforming the way legal and compliance professionals operate, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness.
Kensho industry use case: Entity & thematic tagging for document filtering and search
Expert networks are professional services firms that are increasingly diversifying their business model to include online platforms to complement their core expert call business, usually one-on-one research consultations. Through an expert network service, a CEO can find and interview a professional with relevant expertise to interview on a topic. The audio of the conversation is recorded, transcribed into text, then provided to the client. From there, expert networks compile all transcribed interviews into an online web-based library, which is accessible with a paid subscription.
A day in the life of an AI researcher
Artificial intelligence research seems to progress by leaps and bounds, but those great leaps are made possible by the consistent daily grind of thousands of AI researchers. What does a typical workday look like for them? In this article, I will take you through a day in my life as an AI researcher, which probably looks similar to a few or even as many as several other AI researchers’ work lives.
Kensho NLP hackathon: Exploring new challenges with natural language processing
Kensho’s NLP team organized the company’s first ever NLP-specific hackathon that brought together engineers, designers and product managers to explore and develop experimental products using NLP techniques. The hackathon was a great team-building event for connecting, collaborating, showcasing skills and creating new solutions.
Word Error Rate primer
Word Error Rate (WER) is a commonly used metric to judge the accuracy of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) systems. It is the ratio of errors in the ASR’s transcription to the total number of words spoken. Although there are other metrics to measure how well an ASR system is performing, WER is a relatively simple but actionable metric that allows us to compare ASR systems to one another, and evaluate an individual ASR system’s accuracy over time.
Combining speech-to-text AI and human effort to create bespoke transcriptions
With Kensho’s Scribe’s Human-In-The-Loop (HITL) service, you receive an AI-assisted human-edited transcript where every word is transcribed the way you intend it to be and every page looks the way you intend it to look.
Kensho industry use case: Lease abstraction
Managing a portfolio of commercial real estate is no easy task, though, particularly considering the length and complexity of leases involved. That’s why REITs have a shared services division tasked with a process called lease abstraction, in which the most pertinent information within a complex commercial lease agreement is extracted and uploaded to an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Kensho Extract is now available on S&P Global Marketplace
We’re thrilled to announce that Kensho Extract is now available on the S&P Global Marketplace. S&P Global Marketplace is a site that enables users to easily find datasets and machine-enabled solutions from across S&P Global. The inclusion of Extract underscores the growing importance of Kensho’s technology in the financial services industry.
Monetizing audio is the new competitive advantage
Audio, and the emerging trend of audio as a data set, is a valuable but underutilized resource. Until recently, the transcription of audio was expensive and often slow due to manual processes. In short, it was only as fast as qualified humans could properly transcribe it. That’s changing thanks to major breakthroughs in AI transcription.
