Visible Alpha data is now available in the S&P Global AI Data Portal
S&P Global AI Data Portal expands coverage with Visible Alpha intelligence and insights through our Deterministic Retrieval solution, bringing granular, broker-sourced consensus data into AI-driven workflows.
We're excited to announce support for Visible Alpha data through the S&P Global AI Data Portal, including three newly supported datasets for customers: Consensus Estimates, Financial Line Items, and Segments.
Visible Alpha data joins our Deterministic Retrieval solution’s growing catalog of S&P Global intelligence available for financial analysis, company research, and much more, all within your AI application of choice. Our deterministic retrieval solution gives customers API-driven access to reliable S&P Global data within LLMs and agent-based workflows. Every query translates into a structured, auditable function call, so the same request returns the same data every time.
Granular consensus data, ready for AI workflows
Visible Alpha, part of S&P Global since 2024, extracts and standardizes data from the full working models of more than 250 contributing sell-side brokers. The result is a uniquely granular consensus view spanning 8,000+ companies, 170+ industries, and over 200 million data points, with analyst revisions reflected in consensus within 2 hours on average.
With this release, Deterministic Retrieval customers can query that view directly:
Consensus Estimates delivers driver-level consensus for the metrics analysts actually model, including revenue by product, margin assumptions, and key operating metrics, alongside contributor counts and estimate dispersion for each figure.
Financial Line Items provides standardized income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow line items drawn from analyst models, with historical actuals for like-for-like comparisons across companies and periods.
Segments surface forecasts and actuals at the business segment and product level, revealing which parts of a company are expected to drive future performance.
From headline consensus to the assumptions underneath
Most consensus tools return a blended mean. Visible Alpha data delivered through Deterministic Retrieval lets customers see the distribution behind it: which line items carry the widest analyst disagreement, how estimates have moved, and which assumptions are most likely to be contested on the next earnings call.
That depth powers a wide range of AI-driven workflows. Analysts can prepare for earnings with line-item comparisons of consensus and actuals. Research teams can start coverage from a complete consensus baseline, and IR professionals can benchmark their own metrics against peers at the segment level before every call.
Built on deterministic retrieval
After a beta release with more than 30 Visible Alpha customers, we’re excited to make this data generally available to customers through our Deterministic Retrieval solution.
As the base data retrieval offering that anchors the S&P Global AI Data Portal, Deterministic Retrieval is ideal for structured queries with defined parameters that return fast, predictable, cited results. The retrieval layer performs no AI-driven reasoning or generation, customers keep full control over orchestration, and every data point traces back to its source. We look forward to bringing Visible Alpha data to our Adaptive Retrieval offering in the near future.
As with previous data releases, customers can access Visible Alpha data conversationally through integrated platforms including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini Enterprise, and Microsoft Copilot via our MCP server, or programmatically through our open-source Python library. Review our documentation for details.
We can’t wait to see what AI workflows our customers unlock with Visible Alpha Consensus Estimates, Financial Line Items, and Segments data through the S&P Global AI Data Portal.
