S&P Global delivers trusted financial data and insights to customers through ChatGPT

Our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the Kensho LLM-ready API connects S&P Global’s financial datasets directly to ChatGPT, so answers are grounded in trusted, differentiated data directly in customer workflows.

We’re excited to announce the S&P Global app for ChatGPT, making S&P Global’s financial data available to customers through a strategic collaboration with OpenAI.

As part of OpenAI’s announcement of new financial data integrations and capabilities including ChatGPT for Excel, financial professionals — from hedge fund managers to private equity and investment banking analysts — can now ask ChatGPT complex financial questions and receive fast, reliable answers grounded in S&P Global’s trusted data and insights.

“We are excited to integrate with ChatGPT to deliver S&P Global’s data directly, ensuring our customers have seamless access to the intelligence they rely on,” said Bhavesh Dayalji, Chief AI Officer of S&P Global and CEO of Kensho. “By empowering customers to integrate our trusted data into existing workflows, we’re accelerating innovation across the industry, enabling financial professionals and organizations to glean deeper insights and make decisions with conviction.”

This integration expands the reach of S&P Global across the growing ecosystem of generative and agentic AI solutions and underscores S&P Global’s ongoing commitment to meeting customers wherever they work. Learn more about our ChatGPT integration on S&P Global Marketplace.

Empowering customers with financial intelligence across AI workflows

The official S&P Global app for ChatGPT.

We’re proud to collaborate with OpenAI to accelerate innovation across the industry, delivering comprehensive S&P Global data directly to AI-powered applications to help customers glean deeper insights and make AI-driven decisions with conviction.

As with our Anthropic collaboration, this integration leverages our Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for the Kensho LLM-ready API. Our LLM-ready API transforms how customers access financial intelligence, enabling LLMs to tap into a range of critical S&P Global datasets including S&P Capital IQ Financials, earnings call transcripts, and company intelligence.

We’re working hard to enhance the API and MCP server with even more robust capabilities and dataset availability. This year we’ve rolled out features like enhanced auditability for public company financials data and announced support for Private Company Financials data, which includes data for over 12 million private companies globally, along with S&P Capital IQ Estimates. You can learn more about the solution here. Stay tuned for more LLM-ready API updates coming soon.

This integration joins our MCP connections to GenAI applications and platforms like Claude, Amazon Quick Suite, and Databricks, and we’re not slowing down. S&P Global and Kensho continue to collaborate with the world’s leading technology companies to unlock value for customers, delivering our trusted insights anywhere clients need them.
