Kensho LLM-Ready API adds Private Company Financials, S&P Capital IQ Estimates datasets, and enhanced auditability for public company financials

The Kensho LLM-ready API expands dataset coverage with Private Company Financials and S&P Capital IQ Estimates, plus inline source links for deeper auditability and transparency.

Last year, we announced MCP server support for our LLM-ready API, simplifying how customers connect their AI applications with S&P Global datasets for AI-driven financial and market analysis. Since then we’ve been working to further enhance the Kensho LLM-ready API, expanding our dataset offerings to deliver more relevant and actionable data directly into customers’ AI workflows.

Today, we’re excited to announce support for S&P Global Private Company Financials and S&P Capital IQ Estimates data. We’re also releasing a significant enhancement to our existing public company financials dataset: added source document links in API responses to enable deeper auditability and data verifiability.

Enabling Access to Private Company Financials for LLM-ready API Customers

The Private Company Financials and S&P Capital IQ Estimates datasets will supplement the growing list of S&P datasets already available through the Kensho LLM-ready API. Customers will have access to fundamental financial data such as balance sheets, income statements, and ratios for privately-held companies globally. This rich data is ideal for researching prospective investments, running comparable company analyses, monitoring portfolio companies, and much more.

S&P Private Company Financials includes data for over 12 million active and inactive private companies globally dating back to 2004 for North American and European regions and 2012 for Asia-Pacific regions. Data is sourced from a range of local registries.

Kensho LLM-ready API customers can access Private Company Financials individually or as part of a package of AI-ready datasets. The data is available through API calls and via MCP server for easy accessibility through AI applications.

Enhancing public company financials data with source document links

The Kensho LLM-ready API’s new source document link functionality returns auditable hyperlinks directing users from cited public company financial line items back to the original source filings in S&P Capital IQ Pro.

Embedding source document links directly in-line with LLM responses supports customer trust and confidence in the veracity of returned data. Source links also can initiate a path for deeper data exploration and analysis by navigating users directly to comprehensive filings for further research.

Our goal is to make it as seamless as possible for customers to leverage trusted data and insights wherever they work. As customers continue to build and enhance their AI and agent-based workflows, we’ll keep working to provide access to even more S&P Global datasets and enhanced features for streamlined analysis and research.

We’re excited to see what customers can do with Private Company Financials, S&P Capital IQ Estimates data, and source link auditability in public financials data. Stay tuned for more dataset onboarding and feature updates over the course of 2026.
